This Master bathroom was built as a house addition many years ago. Over time, rainwater caused severe damage to the lower part of the structure, weakening it to the point where collapse was imminent.

BEFORE The original deck (seen here in its remnants) was a major factor in the structural damage. Rainwater splashing off the deck onto the siding caused significant rot over time. The entire front section of the structure was being supported by just one semi-rotted 2x4 stud.

BEFORE The wood rot and the resulting holes in the structure created an entry point for rats, which found their way into the bathroom. Inside this bench next to the bathtub, we discovered a full-blown rat nest.

AFTER After extensive repairs, the structure was fully restored, complete with a new deck and bathroom.

The flat, peel-and-stick roof was re-sloped to improve drainage, and gutters were installed along the back of the structure to direct water away effectively.
